What does RTI include? On-going student assessment and progress monitoring Tiered Instruction Parent Involvement What is Tier 1? - Tier 1 includes all students at RCA. This tier assumes standards-based classroom is occurring in every classroom including implementation of the Georgia Performance Standards through research-based practices, use of differentiation of instruction such as flexible grouping, varied instructional strategies and monitoring progress of learning through multiple formative assessments and analysis of student work. What is Tier 2? - If these strategies are not working for a student, you should fill out a referral form and submit it to Liya Endale in counseling. Tier 2 represents needs-based learning including specialized pyramids of intervention and greater frequency of monitoring progress of learning through multiple formative assessments and analysis of student work. What is Tier 3? - Tier 3 represents Student Support Team driven learning including individualized assessments, formal progress monitoring, interventions tailored to individual needs and referral for specially designed instruction if needed. Not more than 15% of the student population should be in tier 3 at any given time. What is Tier 4? - Tier 4 represents 5% of the student population and specially designed learning including participation in GPS access/extension, greater frequency of progress monitoring and specialized programs, methodology or instruction like an IEP referral. |
